H.R. 1955 - The Thought Crime Bill

Our decent into a tyrannical Government will make huge progress with the passage of H.R. 1955, the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Bill. This bill paves the way for labeling anyone a domestic “radical” or “terrorist” as anyone who engages in a “process of adopting or promoting an extremist belief system for the purpose of facilitating ideologically based violence to advance political, religious, or social change.”

The language of the bill alludes mostly to those who would potentially perpetuate their ideas through “violence” or “force”. So, if the Government thinks that someone might encourage violence or force, they can be labeled as a homegrown terrorist and subject to whatever punishments may be assigned to the ‘crime’. The implications of this bill are alarming and anyone who does not want an Orwellian Thought Police patrolling our lives should take action NOW to stop it.

The bill was passed in the House last fall, and is currently being considered in the Senate. Find your senators here and email or call them to tell them how you feel about this bill. Below is a video that further breaks down the bill’s language and why it’s potentially dangerous to our freedom of speech. Of course, Neocon Bill O’Reilly is shown calling for criminal action against those who ask questions and have opinions against the status quo…Fox News will have an company picnic if this bill passes!
