Waking Up the Cattle…I mean, the American people
The Mindset of People
I grow increasingly frustrated with each passing day. I have an inbox full of news alerts that I don’t have time to read, and the ones that I do read and deem essential to report seem to be insurmountably difficult to break down into understandable rhetoric. It takes hours to take the information I have and write it into a form that can be understood and digested by most people. Notice I said MOST people, not all. Some people have already woken up, or have the critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills in order to foster independent thinking. And even after hours of forming an article that I feel has been articulated clearly, I still get responses reflecting that unmistakable glazed over, zombie-like stare…like I hit the shallow end of the pool far sooner than I realized…and so I have to break it down further and simpler, and still, it does not always register, and worse, many people do not want to understand or THINK. I do not know what causes this mental incapacitation or the apparent apathy concerning it’s presence, but I find it’s widespread existence amongst the majority of Americans to be exasperating. I cannot even write about a fraction of what I would like to because I feel that I can’t make it simple enough to understand, and that people don’t care anyways. Why can’t this information even register with people? Why is it beyond their realm of possible understanding? And why doesn’t it bother them in the slightest that it is difficult for them to grasp? I get so frustrated in dealing with most people because their mindset is, if information does not come from a TV, it can’t be real or even considered. They won’t think about or consider it as real information, much less actually research it and form an opinion. But once a TV network or newspaper says something, then it must be true…no questions asked, it’s fact.
Deep down I always suspected something was wrong in the world, not just with government but with the actual thought processes & messages that dominate pop culture. I could sense it, but I didn’t know that I had tools to learn what was disturbing me. I found it rather personally embarrassing that I had lived for years in the dark about understanding our country’s monetary policy & its history. Same goes for the tax, foreign, economic, military, corporate and legislative policies and their respective histories…I was ill informed and did not see any reason to become educated of how things really work in our country, and more importantly how the effects of those policies change our lives and their respective environments. But when I started to realize the magnitude at which my knowledge was found lacking, I became determined to understand - doing my own research, evaluations, and forming conclusions. I am no longer content to be ignorant, there is too much at stake.
The Mindset of Cattle
Being raised on a farm and around farm animals, I’ve always kinda felt sorry for the cows. Compared to other farm animals of relative size, they don’t offer much other than food….they aren’t very smart, fast, or able to defend themselves. They are happiest when they hear the sound of grain being emptied into their trough, the cattle call that it’s time to eat. When the gate to the pasture opens they flock out collectively, mindless wandering with the rest of the herd to eat, lay around, and get fat. Never concerned about the potential dangers that surround them, I mean really, what could they do anyways if they were threatened? No, for them, life is too good! They’re fat & happy drooling in the barn, so why change? After so long it’s time for slaughter, and as the gates open from the barnyard they willingly follow each other onto the loading trucks. Off to the slaughterhouse they go…not once ever offering resistance or concern for their plight until it’s too late.
Waking Up the Cattle
I can’t help but draw a comparison between these poor cattle and the majority of Americans. And not just Americans, but people in general are content to live such uninspired lives with little or no real purpose. In their minds, they have the perfect life - family, house, cars, the latest technology devices - so why care about anything else? Well, as I’ve written before, how is this life financed? How much of it is really YOURS? And, are these wonderful “things” in your life being used as leverage against you? Do you ever question how the elements of your life were created and therefore how they could be exploited? Do you even care about the workings of government & corporations, and how they might be effecting your life and the future of your children? Most people know the general answers to these questions, and all I’m trying to say is WAKE UP! The government, bureaucrats, and banks would love for the American people to remain dumb cattle. They can continue to dumb us down, keep us fat & happy and we’ll never question it because we’ve come to love & accept our condition as desirable. Well, I’m sounding a new cattle call - start thinking for yourself and question the system! Do research, get educated, speak out, and don’t care what your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers or anyone else thinks of you. While it’s not in any of OUR best interests to stay fat & happy, drooling in the pasture thinking life is wonderful….sadly most of the people around you are sleeping cattle. They are content with being dumbed down…don’t worry about them if they choose ignorance. After all, when the loading trucks come to haul us off to slaughter, it won’t matter who’s awake and who’s asleep.

Brady, now the next step is to look up how many of those products have potential to infringe upon personal privacy via rfid, gps, digital rights management, etc. I know ALL of the Apple products have one of these, which is sad because I love Apple’s innovation and design…but after reviewing the Macbook Air, I’m losing faith that they’re really putting the best product out for the money…their products basically force you to use iTunes & the iTunes store for all media, whose files are locked by DRM. Also start reading about advancements in data mining, and you’ll see that Tivo is doing that, but with a product in your home! I’m not against most of the these products, but some leave too much open to potential privacy invasions & abuse by whoever controls them. Also, I agree…it’s very suspicious and irritating that this article from a large media network, is using the propaganda messaging to sell us stuff that “we can’t live without”. I wish people would count how many time the Television and mainstream media facets sound out messages that tell us we’re ugly, fat, hungry, old, sick, or just ‘not cool’ without buying whatever product they’re dangling in front of us. Sadly, so many people truly believe these lies.
